FULL MOON SEPTEMBER 2018
Full Harvest Moon this Monday at 10:54pm (EST) in Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra.π This nakshatra resides entirely within the constellation of Pisces and consists of two stars, Pegasi and Andromedae. It is also known as 1/2 of the square of Pegasus and means β the beautiful left foot.β The feet are connected to Pisces and symbolize travel. There is a Saturn and Jupiter influence here which gives a vey spiritual nature, deep wisdom and puts an emphasis on spiritual growth. There is also a connection to Kundalini and serpent energy with this lunar mansion and the ability to achieve a higher state of consciousness. Agni, the fire God, also plays a big role here and has an energy of purification.
This lunar mansions power (shakti) is the bringing of the cosmic rain and washing away the old. Itβs a murky time this weekend and the last few days with ending of the Kala Sarpa Yoga( when all planets are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu) and also the last meeting of Mars and Ketu. These two planets are very fiery and the shadow side of Uttara Bhadrpada can also show itβs fiery side increasing anger and aggressiveness and the impulse to stand up for yourself and give someone a piece of your mind. The buttons are definitely being pushed with all of this planetary energy combined with the moon waxing itβs way to fullness can leave us feeling full of frustration. Itβs important to take the high road and not engage this energy, feel into the anger, lean into it, breath into it, embrace it, allow it to expand inside of you until it melts away in the form of a tearful release or just a feeling of letting go and love. Allow this wisdom to circulate and come through the darkness. I have had to do this practice quite a bit the last few days and it always amazes me how getting out of my head and into my body with my emotions always alleviates the suffering.
Mercury is also exalted in the nakshatra of Uttara Phalguni until 10/6, giving a kind and compassionate speech. Mars is still exalted, has been stationed direct for a few weeks and gaining more strength and direction as it continues to move away from Ketu. Venus in Libra, Swati Nakshatra, itβs Moolitrikona sign, yields great power and gives us the desire to share our love and beautyβ¦whether itβs in relationships, with family, our work, etc. Swati brings a scattering like the wind energy and could also inspire travel. There is great opportunity for spiritual progress with these planetary energies although it can feel quite the opposite.
On Saturday evening at 9:54pm (EST) the Sun will cross the celestial equator ( the imaginary line in the sky directly above the equator) into the Southern Hemisphere creating an equal balance of daylight and darkness and tilting more and more into the favor of the darkness and the shortening of days until the Winter Solstice.πππ We in the northern hemisphere experience this as the beginning of Autumn and those in the Southern Hemisphere as the beginning of Spring.πππ This Autumnal Equinox is called Light of the Water in the Druid tradition and represents the second of the harvest festivals and marks the end of the harvest. This festival is also know as Mabon and is a celebration giving thanks for the fruits of the earth and the Mother Goddesss. After this weekend we will journey into the womb of the Crone, going deep and dark and enjoy lots of pumpkin spice everything to ease our transition. Equinox & Full Moon Blessings to youππΌ
